Scientists have identified, there are 8 monosaccharides (sugars/carbohydrates) essential for our bodies to communicate at cellular level. Without the uptake of these monosaccharides our immune system is compromised and auto-immune disease processes can occur such as Asthma, Crohns disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Allergies, some forms of cancer etc.

Most of us only get 2 of these monosaccharides in our current diet. Those people who do not eat dairy products or drink milk get one - Glucose. Glucose can break down to the other 7 monosaccharides, however if the body is compromised in any way, as in sick, stressed, not getting the right intake or amount of vitamins etc., this is not going to occur effectively. In addition it takes a large number of enzymatic processes for Glucose to convert into each of the other monosaccharides.
