Visitors Visa - NZ Immigration Department

All visitors who travel to New Zealand for healthcare and who are not New Zealand Citizens or New Zealand Residents require a Visitors Visa.

There are no exceptions.

It is also necessary to have proof that funding is available for medical care prior to arrival in New Zealand.

NUAZ  is able to assist with this process.

Confidentiality of Client Information

New Zealand has legislated a Privacy Act to protect the privacy of individuals. NUAZ  requests that clients sign a consent form, enabling NUAZ to have access to medical records for the specific purpose of passing this information on to referring and treating Medical Practitioners/Hospital.

Billing and Payments    - Foreign Currency Exchange

NUAZ Responsibilities

NUAZ  is responsible for making payments for and on behalf of clients thus leaving the client free to be completely cared for, without the stress of administrative hassles.

In all cases NUAZ  will provide an estimate of costs based on the referral notes provided by the client’s medical practitioner. Where additional treatment or diagnostic tests are required, estimates will be provided to the client for approval, prior to treatment going ahead.

NUAZ  must ensure funding is available before the clients leave their own country.

This is important:

a)  to ensure funds are available for services to be provided

b)  to assure the New Zealand Immigration Service on visa application, that medical and living costs are met.

A signed contract is required between the client and NUAZ prior to the transfer of funds and the confirmation of health care and associated support service.

All estimates and payments are in NZ$ currency.

Individual Client

NUAZ Ltd requests that the estimated amount for total client care is transferred into a New Zealand NUAZ Client Trust Account prior to the client arriving in New Zealand. If the estimated amount is in excess of expenditure a refund will be provided to the client on closure of the client’s account (usually within 4-6 weeks following the clients departure from New Zealand).

The client will receive an itemised statement on closure of the account.

Referring Organisation and/or Governing Body

NUAZ will establish a New Zealand bank account for and on behalf of organisations such as a hospital or government who wish to refer clients to New Zealand for healthcare. The organisation may then provide funds direct to this bank account for NUAZ   to access to meet the costs of client care.

On closure of each individuals account, an itemised statement will be provided to the organising body.

Health Support and Education

A number of organisations in New Zealand  work with NUAZ to provide education and treatment services for the prevention of diabetes and associated disease processes in offshore environments.

NUAZ  has developed a network of medical professionals across a broad spectrum of disciplines inclusive of hospital architecture, hospital management, nursing and allied health education providers.

Reference Checks

NUAZ is happy to provide both written and phone references from health providers, international medical referrers and clients.
